When I bought my 1969 AMX in 1977 I was not aware that Playboy had given a AMX to their 1968 Playmate of the Year. Years later I heard about the "Playmate AMX" but never gave it a second though until a summer day in July 2010 when the car was put up for sale. I ended up buying the car and several years later it underwent a full restoration.

It's going to be a long day on Saturday Sept 8. That's the weekend of the Santa Maria AMC Car Show. Right after the show is over the Playmate AMX will be back on the road for another 500 miles to make it to Ferndale by the next morning for the Ferndale Concurs Show
The Playmate AMX was awarded 3rd place in class at the 2018 San Marino Motor Classic. Last year at the same show the car was denied, but not this year. With many great cars, it was hard for the judges to choose any three best cars.
I was approached by a German car magazine to have the car's story put in the magazine. They said the story has not been told in Germany. In our photo shoot we did static shots, car to car, and a overhead shot with a drone. They sent me a few shots to use before the magazine comes out. anybody speak German that can translate?
The Playmate AMX hasn't had a major beauty make-over in quite a while. This Monday I am taking the car over to Riverside and a new friend is sharing his collection of cleaning techniques and the two of use are going to prep the car for the San Marino Motor Classic on the following weekend.
